About us

Eleven yearsof getting it right.

902 Drywall Ltd. is a residential and commercial drywall contractor based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We install, tape and finish — and we have built the company around being the trade that does not create problems for the trades behind us.

A trade business, run like a trade business

902 Drywall started because there was a gap in the Nova Scotia market between the very large national subcontractors and the small residential crews. Commercial general contractors needed someone who could scale to a full tower but still answer the phone directly.

Since 2014 we have boarded and finished hotels, high-rise residential towers, institutional buildings and commercial fit-outs across the province. The company is led by Mohit Gulati, who runs estimating and project coordination personally — so the person who prices your job is the person accountable for delivering it.

Every crew is covered by the Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia and we carry commercial liability insurance. Clearance letters and certificates go to your office before mobilization, because compliance paperwork should never be the thing holding up a start date.

Because our focus is quality.

“Drywall is the trade everyone notices only when it is wrong. My job is to make sure nobody on your site has to think about us at all.”

01

Straight walls, straight answers

If a date is at risk, you hear it from us early — not the week it slips. If a detail in the drawings will not build, we flag it at takeoff rather than turning it into a change order later.

02

The same standard on every job

A basement renovation gets the same layout thinking and the same finishing standard as a hotel corridor. The scale of the job changes; how we hang and finish the wall does not.

03

The crew is the company

Our finishers have been doing this for years, and they are covered, paid properly and given the right tools. That is why the finish is consistent from the first floor to the last.

Why contractors call us back

Hiring a tradeis a bet ontheir judgment.

Anyone can quote a square footage rate. What you are actually buying is whether the crew shows up, whether the wall is straight when the light hits it, and whether the punch list is short. Here is what we hold ourselves to.

01

WCB insured, every crew, every day

Full Workers' Compensation Board coverage and liability insurance. Certificates go to your office before we set foot on your site — no chasing paperwork at close-in.

02

We finish on your critical path

Drywall sits between close-in and every finishing trade behind you. We size crews to hit your dates, and we tell you early if a date is at risk instead of the week it slips.

03

The deficiency list is the real deadline

Anyone can hang board. We walk every wall under raking light before handover, because a short punch list is worth more to you than a fast rough-in.

04

One accountable point of contact

You deal directly with Mohit, not a rotating list of coordinators. Decisions get made on the phone the same day you call.

How we work

Six steps fromdrawings to sign-off.

No surprises, no invented change orders. You know exactly what happens, in what order, and who is accountable at every stage.

Drawings & Takeoff

Send us the architecturals and the spec. We do a full quantity takeoff, flag assembly conflicts we find in the drawings, and come back with a line-item price you can actually compare.

Schedule & Crew Plan

We map our crew size against your close-in dates and the trades stacked behind us, then commit to a sequence in writing before mobilization.

Layout & Close-In Check

Before a sheet goes up we walk the framing against the drawings, confirm backing and blocking are where the finishes need them, and flag anything that would trap a problem behind the board.

Board & Close-In

Board goes up floor by floor with sheets cut tight to the opening, fastener spacing checked, and joints planned to fall where they finish cleanest.

Tape, Coat & Sand

Taped, coated and sanded to the specified GA-214 level using dust-controlled systems, so the trades working behind us are not fighting our dust.

Raking-Light Walkthrough

Before we call a floor complete, we walk it under raking light with your superintendent and correct anything that shows. You inherit a short list, not a long one.

Architecturals and a spec are enough to start. You get a full quantity takeoff, a line-item price you can compare, and a straight answer on whether we can hit your dates.
